There is a divide of thought and ideology when it comes to giving awards. Some people think they should work for awards, and others think everyone should get one.

But, it is not as simple as that.

If there are those who feel only the best should get an award, how do you classify the group who have help ...they don't do it themselves??

Some parents help their children ...and I think helping children is a good thing, but to help to gain a competitive edge should be in the form of encouragement and healthy instruction, not doing the work for them and assigning or awarding the credit wrongfully.

Sometimes the emphasis is so strong, children are inclined to cheat.  Other times the children are not the initial ones who feel they need to cheat, the parents initiate it.
